In case you missed the memo, Shy Glizzy has decided to ditch his long-standing alias and “reinvent” himself as Jefe.
“I earned the title Jefe. It comes with maturity, more responsibility, and putting more people in the position of being a boss in every aspect,” Glizzy Jefe told FADER. “With a name like that, you don’t have a choice.”
The D.C. native has been referring to himself as “Young Jefe” for years now — releasing his Young Jefe mixtape in 2014 and Young Jefe 2 this past July — so the name change isn’t that surprising. But still… why can’t these rappers make up their minds?! Hell, Shy Glizzy was a cool lil name too.
Anyways, to help signify the change, Shy Jefe has released a new project, The World Is Yours.
Locked in at eight tracks, the EP features production from Zaytoven and features from 3 Glizzy, Ralo, and a few others.
