It’s been a solid two years since Maryland native Substantial released his last full-length project, Art Is Where The Home Is.

With a new home over at Kevin Nottingham’s esteemed indie label HiPNOTT Records, Substantial is proud to release his latest effort, The Past Is Always Present in the Future, a 17-track project broken into four parts: Past, Present, Future and Always — gathering up Danish singer/songwriter Fjer and QN5’s Tonedeff + more.

Along with a stream of the album, the day comes packed with a bonus video for “The Sub Way,” a play on both his name and visual journey through the subways of New York and the DC/DMV Metro, shot by CamCamTV.

Substantial will hit the road for a mini tour kicking off in his home state of Maryland. Check the dates below.

  • 1/28: PG Album Release Party – North Brentwood, MD
  • 1/31: Bmore Album Release Party – Baltimore, MD
  • 2/11: Barnes & Noble In Store Performance – Raleigh, NC
