Oddisee is releasing his new album The Iceberg on February 24. After two projects last year — Alwasta and The Odd Tape — the DMV native introduced the first single from The Iceberg, “Things,” to close last year.
The song looked internally as Oddisee wondered what he could do to make a better him, but the second single contrasts that looking at his surroundings wondering why it’s made so hard for him to live as an equal.
“Why a brother get three for a sack while your brother go free for a raping? How you make a film about Egypt with all lead roles caucasian?” he raps in the first verse. The thoughts in the song aren’t solely brought on by a Trumo regime in the White House, but they’re certainly thoughts that are intensified as a country seems to get more divided.
