Allan Rayman – “13”

Allan Rayman has been awfully quiet over the last year as he’s put the finishing touches on his next album, Roadhouse 01 — his first since 2015’s Hotel Allan. The project is set to drop February 24 (joining Thundercat, Oddisee and Karriem Riggins) via Communion Records.

He returns today with the project’s newest sound, “13.” He sings “There you go again, talking, talking, talking, no clue/I’m onto something more than you” on the hook over his routinely back-to-the-80s sound of pulsating synthesizers and smashing snare hits.

“Look, I’m really getting to know myself here,” he told Interview Magazine, who premiered the song. “I know well and good that I’m no good at communicating. Shit, I think that’s why I’m out here in the first place. Maybe if things had been different I would still be back in the hands of love. But I hate love don’t I… I know what I want and I don’t mind being alone.”
