As much as we joke, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that producer Jansport J has quietly become one of Los Angeles’ best-kept secrets. A frequent collaborator of fellow DopeHouse favorite Mélat, his wide-ranging talent is on full display on his latest solo project, p h a r a o h.
The follow-up to his 2016 release blackwhitegoldville, Jansport delivers a 27-track instrumental tape inspired by a visit to New York City. Using everything from news clips on the death of Harambe to a phone sex conversation, p h a r a o h is one of the producer’s most ambitious drops to date.
