Employing Melvin Bliss’s classic drums from “Synthetic Substitution” (which, coincidentally, Ghostface Killah used on “Mighty Healthy”), the track is vintage Rae at his Cuban Linx best. Rae described The Wild to Billboard as “hip hop in its purest form is being reinstated. You needed a taste, you needed the seasoning; relax, the Chef is here to serve you!”
