Anna Wise is dropped her new album, The Feminine, Act II — the follow-up to Act I release via an EP last year — in two weeks. Today she shares the first single, “Coconuts,” and pairs it with a video.
“I wanted to tell the story of a woman approaching a life-changing event, who travels to the edge of Earth to seek advice from her guides,” Wise told NPR, who premiered the video, of the narrative she wanted to tell. “I wanted to show female unity. We had an exquisite experience curating a positive healing energy that we now hope is going to shine through to everyone who watches.”
The video starts with Wise kneeled on the edge of the ocean before being blasted into a room drowned in color, changing from blue to red to green and back to blue again as she and other women lay intimate and tight-knit.
