A love letter to NOLA.

With NBA All-Star weekend going down in New Orleans this past weekend, Lil Wayne made sure to embrace the spotlight on his hometown.

On Saturday night, with LeBron James in attendance, a Hot Boys reunion was made (sans BG, of course) as Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Turk and Mannie Fresh rocked the stage together at one of Beats by Dre’s many events.

During the event, Wayne—who will be headlining the 10th Annual Roots Picnic alongside Pharrell and Solange—spoke with The FADER about his undying love for the city that birthed him and how it’s rich musical heritage will forever live through his tunes.

“What influenced us was the early New Orleans artists,” Wayne said. “We’re all just following that fabric, that tradition, and the culture now and it’s easy to follow when it’s natural.”

To help bring everything to life, FADER teamed up with Beats By Dre for a minute-long vignette that sets Wayne’s comments over a collection of shots from the city — including performance clips from this weekend’s party.
