A few days ago, Killer Mike was honored by his home state of Georgia in two unique ways.
First, the city of Atlanta had a contest in which residents were asked to name its new, multi-million dollar drilling machine earlier this year. With titles such as “The Peach Beast” and “Scarlett,” the city decided to call it “Driller Mike.”
Following that, Georgia state senator Nan Orrock honored Mike as an Outstanding Ambassador of Atlanta for his continuous work on the city’s water infrastructure as well as his tireless community outreach efforts. So on March 10th, Mike spoke to the senate while decked out in an Atlanta Braves fitted and a gold chain, fulfilling a childhood dream of going to the state capitol dressed like Run-DMC. He also expressed his hopes to see Democrats and Republicans work together for the advancement of the state’s children through education, clean water and more.
