lojii and Swarvy have kept their promise of releasing a song-a-week as we lead up to getting the entirety of their DUE RENT project. After getting a couple single followed up with the full first half of DUE RENT last week, the duo share the next sound, “blok.”
“‘blok’ is an ode to what I see everyday when I step outside,” lojii told OnSmash, who premiered the single. “When I look thru the windows of the buses I ride, and what my peoples go thru on the daily in the inner city.”
The song comes with a brighter energy and melody than previous singles, but “blok” is still layered with similar dust and struggle. “You can love the block, but it won’t love you back,” lojii hums on the hook.
