If nothing else, Mayer Hawthorne‘s as consistent as they come. For his fifth year in a row, we get a new project from the funk and disco extraordinaire, the second coming alongside Jake One as the duo Tuxedo.
Earlier this year, the pair surprised us with the three-track Fux With The Tux EP, which came with some ad-libs from Snoop Dogg. All three songs — the title track, “Special” and “July” — turned out to be the first three singles from Tuxedo II, followed by “2nd Time Around,” which came with the album announcement.
As opposed to dropping more singles (which would make it so damn near half the album would be out) up to the album release, Tuxedo shared a mix of some of their favorite funk and disco influences to get us prepped for their new 11-track album, which they navigate solely with their chemistry.
