A Musical Inspired By Pharrell’s Childhood To Be Released

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that, thanks to the success of La La Land, Fox has grabbed the rights to produce its own musical film partially inspired by Pharrell‘s childhood in Virginia Beach, VA.

Titled Atlantis, Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer will helm the project. Martin Hynes, who is currently writing Toy Story 4(!), will pen the musical, while Pharrell and Mimi Valdes will produce it via Station Wagon P‘s i am OTHER company.

Pharrell has already experienced some silver screen success, as a producer on the film Hidden Figures and force behind the Despicable Me 2 hit “Happy,” both of which received Oscar nominations.
