A couple weeks ago, we learned Donald Glover would provide the voice for Simba in the upcoming live-action Lion King movie. With Simba (and Mufasa — James Earl Jones got that role) already locked in, director Jon Faverau is working on securing the lion’s female counterpart — Nala.
According to Variety, Faverau’s “top choice” to play Nala is Beyoncé, who has yet to accept the offer.
Glover and Beyoncé would make for a helluva pairing if that’s the final lineup for the movie. God bless Glover getting smoked on every duet, though. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind.
