JAY Z Pulls Entire Solo Catalog off Spotify

blame it on JES7 April 8, 2017

In a move that probably surprised no one, Spotify has removed JAY Z‘s entire solo discography, including Watch the Throne, off their platform, with Spotify explaining the removals came “at the request of the artist,” as revealed to The Verge.

Originally, the majority of Jay’s albums were also pulled from Apple Music, but according to multiple users, most of his discography is now available once again, save for fan favorites and heralded classics Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint (which were also mysteriously missing from Spotify before the recent disappearing act).

So unless you’re a fan of JAY Z and R. Kelly’s The Best of Both Worlds and Unfinished Business, or Hov’s Collision Course collaboration with Linkin Park, it’s time for you to pony up for subscriptions to either TIDAL (yes, we know) or Apple Music. Although the latter doesn’t seem much like a guarantee these days.
