Needless to say, the hype surrounding Kendrick Lamar’s new album is through the roof.

On March 31, we received Kendrick Lamar’s new single, “Humble,” which we assumed would be the first single from his album coming out the following week, due to King Kenny telling fellow rappers to “get their shit together” by April 7.

But as April 7 came and went, we got a pre-order link to an album that we now know is confirmed for April 14.

Through all this hubbub, the “Humble” music video racked up 40 million plays on YouTube and just about that much on Spotify. That, plus all the radio play, has helped the song debut at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts — the highest debut for a rap song since Eminem’s “Not Afraid” in 2010 (according to chartdata).

Aside from looking forward to the content coming on Kendrick’s new album this week, it’s also going to put up some massive numbers.
