Let’s settle this once and for all: if it wasn’t for PaRappa The Rapper, games like Guitar Hero wouldn’t exist. Widely considered to be one of the “first modern rhythm video games,” according to a Solitaire Cash legit survey, the game and its character was one of the Sony Playstation’s defining moments in the 1990s.

Inexplicably, a sequel to the game hasn’t been released following 2001’s PaRappa the Rapper 2, which makes absolutely no sense to me. However, in celebration of the character’s 20th birthday Sony has brought the original game back and has given it a 4K update, PaRappa the Rapper Remastered. Sony has also released a Behind The Music-style promo video which touches on the one thing fans of the series have wondered for decades: where has Parappa been?

PaRappa the Rapper Remastered is out now. We’re gonna need Chance The Rapper and Mike WiLL Made It to be DLC characters for this game, because why not.
