In 2015, German boom-bap ambassadors JR & PH7 knocked down doors with their Noir EP and The South Sac Mack full-length collaboration with Chuuwee.
Now, with their next album Coral Cadavers on the horizons for a tentative June release, the German duo are back on the campaign trail. After releasing the album’s first single, “Duck Duck Goose” with Rah Digga (see below), JR & PH7 play with heavy shades of light and shadow with their latest single.
“Driven” features DopeHouse favorite Roc Marciano and Rahway, New Jersey trio St. Joe Louis (Elete Wright, Michael Cardigan and Tommie Chase) and is described as a “neo-noir psychological thriller about a woman’s descent into moral ambiguities against the backdrop of Los Angeles,” which sets up and follows the four emcees as the story’s nihilistic antiheroes.
