I would be remiss not to admit my desires of seeing the whole “mumble rap” movement fade away, almost as quickly as the snap music/ringtone era of the early naughts did. But as a grown man, I do understand there’s checks and balances to this rap shit, not unlike our current government, and I could just as easily ignore most of it and go about my day. After all, the backbone of Hip-Hop—lyricism—will never go out of style and will always be celebrated, albeit seemingly by a smaller minority of listeners.
