In its first two weeks, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. sold 606,000 and 238,000 copies, respectively, making it the biggest-selling album of 2017 so far.

Now, in its third week out to the public, DAMN. has surpassed the one-million-sold mark.

Interscope — Kendrick Lamar’s label, along with Top Dawg Entertainment and Aftermath — announced Thursday DAMN. has gone platinum. Needing just 156,000 in its third week to hit the mark, it seems the album has done so with a day to spare.

DAMN, platinum status. 💿

It took the critically acclaimed To Pimp A Butterfly nine months to hit the platinum certification, which speaks on how big Kendrick has gotten since his last album. (And the power of streaming, of course).

Congrats to Kendrick, TDE and everyone invovled with the project.
