After enjoying much success in 2013 with his Duck Down album Falling Into Place, opening for Eminem in his home country and touring alongside Run The Jewels, New Zealand rapper David Dallas is ready to take the next step in his career with the release of Hood Country Club.
While the majority of the album is straight no-holds-barred rap, it is perhaps the single “Fit In” which help him gain an even broader, more international fanbase. The Styalz Fuego and Nic M-produced track is a cautionary tale of sorts about not caving in to the latest trends, and is heavily influenced by the early sounds of UK two-step/garage music. “That Artful Dodger/Craig David stuff was all over the radio when I was at school and I loved it,” shared David in a press release. “When I heard this beat I thought, ‘there it is’. I’d been wanting that type of feel.”
