Banks & Steelz — the duo of RZA and Paul Banks — released their debut album, Anything But Words, last year and return with their first bit of new music since then with “Who Needs The World.”
Their latest single isn’t quite as energetic as songs from Anything But Words, but they keep their fight-the-power themes alive as Banks sarcastically asks, “who needs the world?” on the hook, realizing the Earth might just be beyond repair as capitalism continues to ravage everything good and natural about the world. “We’re just opening more burger joints and making more money,” RZA says in a spoken word.
