Jay Prince announced earlier this week his new project, Late Summer, will arrive on June 2. The Brit initially announced the project with the first single, “Peace Of Mind,” and follows that today with the rugged “When I Die.”
The song approaches a subject pretty much every artists runs through their mind: what will happen to their art once they pass. Prince seems confident he knows what’s going to happen to his, though. They’ll be playing his songs at his own funeral service. It’s confident, but it comes from a place of darkness. It’s a stark change from the positive energy Prince broached on “Peace Of Mind,” where he preached black art and excellence.
