Say it isn’t so, Chad.
While his longtime friend and Neptunes half Pharrell was recently spotted shooting a music video in Los Angeles, Chad Hugo has remained largely mum for years, save for his contribution to Jallal’s “Toss And Turn” with Ne-Yo.
Earlier today (May 21st), however, he sent shockwaves when he abruptly announced his retirement from music. In a since-deleted tweet, Hugo wrote “It’s official. I resign from the music business. Thanks again, people, for your support throughout all these years. Good luck/God bless!”
As stated earlier, he would eventually delete the tweet, and nothing has been confirmed yet. However, it was recently revealed that he, along with Pharrell and Timbaland, were in the studio with Justin Timberlake.
UPDATE: Pitchfork is reporting that Chad is, in fact, not retiring. A rep for Hugo told the publication that it was a “bad joke.”
