T.R.3 – “The Whole World” f. Zion I, Ariano, Sage One the Wise

The world is f*cking insane. There’s no single shred of doubt about it, and we’re certainly not doing any better here in the U.S. The election of an unhinged, ignorant, misogynistic, xenophobic bigot into the highest office in the land has undoubtedly cast an awful shadow of incompetence over America. We’re literally the laughing stock of the world, and waking up everyday to read the news is akin to living in an Ouroboros-esque echo chamber.

I know, I’m a killjoy. But despite my pessimistic views at the moment, I’m no misanthrope. I still have hope in our government’s checks and balances — especially with recent rumblings of impeachment talks and a special prosecutor assigned to investigate these not-so-random acts of fuckery between President Mango Mussolini and mother Russia.

Pardon me, I needed to digress for a moment.

I’d like to think Atlanta’s T.R.3 (of Instrumentalist Music Group) shares the same thoughts as I and most Americans do, just less cynical and more optimistic. The triple threat artist (rapper-producer-engineer) recently connected with L.A.’s Ariano for a joint EP titled Together Alone, and after releasing the project’s first single, “4 A.M.,” the two multi-talented artists enlist Zumbi of Zion I, Sage One the Wise, IMG’s DeShane Bankhead and singer Josh Dominguez (who provides the song’s hook) for a posse cut titled “The Whole World.”

Over Ariano’s sample-free production, all six artists communicate their personal frustrations in life, whether it’s religion, relationships or battling demons perched on one’s shoulders. And yet, despite dealing with differing issues and feelings of despair, we’re really just “alone together all the time.”
