An Eminem Song Is Featured In ‘Despicable Me 3’ Trailer

Typically, Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer are behind the music of the animated film Despicable Me, with Station Wagon P notably garnering an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song in 2014 for “Happy” (it subsequently became the most successful song of the year as well). However, there’s been a different voice throughout the trailers for Despicable Me 3 lately: Eminem.

In an earlier trailer, Dr. Dre’s “What’s The Difference” — with Eminem and Xzibit — was featured prominently throughout. Now, in its third trailer Eminem’s “So Bad” — from his 2010 album Recovery — plays the background.

Does Slim Shady have something in store for the movie? He did recently announce a 15th anniversary capsule for The Eminem Show, and back in October he revealed that he was working on new music. However, Pharrell shouldn’t entirely be counted out, as in May he was spotted shooting a music video for an upcoming song in Los Angeles.

Despicable Me 3 hits theaters June 30th.
