With Big Fish Theory set to drop next week, Vince Staples dropped by The Daily Show with Trevor Noah to talk about the album.
Primarily, Vince doesn’t want to tell the listener what Big Fish Theory is about, likening his art to something hanging up in a museum. The interpretation is up to the listener.
As for the sound of the album, though, Staples and Noah talked about his “Afro-futurism” description, which included this exchange: “I like saying stuff about black people to white people.” “So it means absolutely nothing?” “Of course not.”
