JAY Z’s ‘4:44’ Has A Release Date

Set those calendars, kids.

All June, random adverts with the number 4:44 have sprouted up on various websites — including this one — and throughout New York, with many leading to believe that it was promo for a new JAY Z song/project. As it turns out, that wasn’t exactly the case.

During Game 3 of the NBA Finals a commercial for “4:44” aired on television. As it turns out, it looks to be for a film (or short film) starring Oscar winners Mahershala Ali, Lupita Nyong’o and Danny Glover.

The spot also, formally, announced the recent union of Sprint and TIDAL; back in January 2017 Sprint announced that they purchased a 33 percent stake in TIDAL for approximately $200 million.

Now, another round of billboards of 4:44 have sprang up, providing a release date: Friday, June 30th.

Whether it is a film, the long-rumored thirteenth album from JAY Z, or both, remain to be seen. However, June 30th is a Friday, a designated day in which both movies and albums release.

It was already reported that Jay was recently in Jamaica, where he spent some time and shot a video with reggae legends Junior Reid and Damian Marley, as well as record with Damian and Sister Nancy. In January that producer Zaytoven revealed that he also hit the studio with him.

In the meantime, JAY Z was formally inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. He then went to his seldolmly-used Twitter account, to ramble off a multitude of thanks to his inspirations.

The clock is ticking.
