Havoc lost his partner-in-rhyme, Prodigy, on Tuesday.

The other half of Mobb Deep had been reasonably silent since the passing of his lifelong friend, but he recently opened up to Prodigy’s passing in a video to TMZ.

“I’m still just fucked up. I can’t even listen to ‘Shook Ones,’ or any song. I can hardly look at the pictures,” he said. “I met him when I was 15, and now I’m 43.”

Havoc was on his way home from his 5-year-old son’s graduation when he heard a rumor that Prodigy had passed. Not believing it, given Prodigy had been fighting sickle cell anemia for the last 20-plus years and he’d been hospitalized numerous times for it and came back healthy, Havoc called his road manager.

“The road manager was just crying, like I never heard before,” Havoc said. “I hung up the phone.”

He closed: “I just still can’t believe it.” Nor can we.
