Darnell Williams revels in the city that made him in the video for his song “Young Spike Lee.”
Growing up in Detroit, Williams built the confidence for him to rap lines like, “Pull your wifey in a f*cking white tee, turn the lights down a do the right thing, shot a f*cking flick, I’m the young Spike Lee,” all while rapping said bars in the middle of a beaten down, abandoned building. The video reaches the point where Williams is sitting in the middle of a field watching TV, which he changes the channel to Casey Veggies, who spits his guesting bars from a car in California.
