Kodak Black – “Water” f. NBA YoungBoy

Kodak Black and NBA YoungBoy were both recently released from jail stints. The former was released after serving a short sentence for violating probation and the latter after getting charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder.

Both rappers celebrate their return to freedom on their new song, “Water,” but both are also weary as ever of their surroundings. “My momma always told me ’bout that water/And I said, ‘okay, ma, I’m just gon’ put my feet in’/I’m sorry ma, I got right in that water/I ain’t never notice I was going deep in,” Kodak raps on the hook.

Kodak Black released “First Day Out” — a true celebratory record — a couple weeks ago. Kodak sounds somewhat more regretful and exhausted of his lifestyle on “Water,” which you can listen to below.
