Rhythm Roulette w/ Rahki

blame it on Patrick Glynn June 30, 2017

Rahki most recently has produced jams for Irish rapper Rejjie Snow like “Pink Beetle” and “D.R.U.G.S.,” but his preceding catalog has seen the LA-bred producer work with the likes of Kendrick Lamar (“i,” “Institutionalized”), Eminem (“Won’t Back Down”) and more.

He’s now the latest contestant on Mass Appeal’s Rhythm Roulette challenge, where he visited the legendary Amoeba Records store in Los Angeles to pick records at random and make a beat out of them.

No particularly notable selections (he was looking through he clearance rack, after all), Rahki picked up a vinyl of a chorus recording from Santa Monica, an orchestral arrangement from the Philadelphia Orchestra and a record whose cover had “Illuminati type of vibes.”

After sifting through the sample possibilities, Rahki whipped up two original, haunting productions. Watch the segment below.
