Skepta – “Hypocrisy”

blame it on JES7 July 2, 2017

Although released a little over a year ago, I’ve found myself time-and-time again revisiting Skepta‘s fourth album, Konnichiwa, which nearly made my personal Favorite Albums of 2016.

Now, as he and new Top Boy owner Drake set their sights on the third season of the British crime drama, Skepta (who just premiered his Greatness Only documentary on Apple Music) — returns with a new sound called “Hypocrisy.”

The self-produced single finds Skepta mocking Janus-faced attitudes the UK rapper encounters when dealing with internet trolls in real life, as heard in the chorus: “They try to disrespect me / When they’re online especially / But everything cool when they check me/ Because I’m so cool and deadly.”
