After sharing the stage with Kanye West during the Saint Pablo Tour last year, G.O.O.D. Music’s The World Famous Tony Williams decided to use his down time to record and curate a collection of new music; some which we’ve already heard, and compiling them into a new EP titled The 7th Day.

The EP, produced largely by Bink! and No I.D. serves as a prequel to Tony’s upcoming full-length project, To Gain The World, and features appearances from Kanye West, CyHi the Prynce, Pharoahe Monch, Raheem DeVaughn, Bobby Sessions and more.

I’ve often pondered if it was an obvious breach between old school and the new generation or if we’re merely a broad line of demarcation. Whatever it is, I’ve always felt I was the bridge that brought them together. Who else would put CyHi over “folk/rock”, bring Stokley and Raheem Devaughn together over a No I.D. beat or pair Pharoahe Monch with the newest of new m.c.’s (Bobby Sessions) over a distorted guitar. Hopefully, this project will engage some new ears from both generations.
