Already two projects deep in 2017, Trinidad James is back with his third, and perhaps most important, Father Figga.
A follow-up to The Wake Up 2 and a Gold Gang Records compilation, Trinidad kept things rolling in June when he got his Bad Grandpa on in a hilarious video for “Dad,” before getting all types of “Di$respectful.” And now, after assisting the L.A. Leakers on “Sucio” with O.T. Genasis and Kap G, he comes through with Father Figga.
“Every child needs a father figga,” Trinidad said in a previous interview. “Bad fathers help mold great mothers, and good fathers help mold great women.”
Arriving at nine tracks, Father Figga acts as a profile of the various traits and takes on the role, with help from Sonny Digital, Ricky Racks, Nard N B, 30 Roc, and others.
