Jaidyn – “Hood All Day”

blame it on JES7 July 29, 2017

North Philly’s Jaidyn is fresh off releasing his new Espy-produced single, “Hood All Day,” and within less than a month, the song has shot up to the #1 spot on college radio.

As the title implies, “Hood All Day” tracks through the streets of his neighborhood, giving us, the listener, a first-hand account of what life is like in the hood, without ever having to step out of the metaphorical tour bus.

Jaidyn narrates what he witnesses on the daily: from drug dealers staking their corners to fiends nodding off and looking for their next fix; the projects and the many characters whom can be spotted throughout the corridors and stairwells.

Visual media may depict some of the happenings in the hood, but Jaidyn makes things much more clearer through his wide-angled lens and a first-hand perspective after living it throughout his entire life. It’s not a song meant to glorify the grittiness of the corner, but more a cautionary tale and a way to inspire those looking to make it out.
