Rae Sremmurd – “Perplexing Pegasus” (prod. Mike WiLL Made It)

blame it on Meka August 3, 2017

Be real: you never thought Rae Sremmurd would stick around after “No Flex Zone” didn’t you.

That’s not an insult at all, however; their debut single just seemed too… kitschy to take them serious at the time. I thought the same thing too, until I heard them debut what would be “No Type” at a festival in 2014. “Oh, well, this song will be huge when it drops,” I said to myself.

That kicked off a string of hits, culminating in 2016’s mega-smash “Black Beatles.” Now, with Swae Lee on another summer hit — French Montana‘s “Unforgettable” — the brothers Brown return with the first single off their Sremmlife 3 project, “Perplexing Pegasus.”

Produced once again by Mike WiLL Made It, the track finds Rae Sremmurd doing what they do best: waxing poetics about the lavish life while backed by Mike’s darkly gorgeous sonics. Expect another smash on this album, and don’t be surprised if naysayers are proved wrong again when it does.
