A tradition to close out the annual Toronto Caribbean Carnival, popularly known as Caribana, Drake held his annual OVO Fest this past weekend (August 5th and 7th). Now in its eighth year, it’s gotten considerably difficult to surprise concertgoes, but Mr. Virginia Black pulled out all the stops once again.

Alongside the full OVO roster — PARTYNEXTDOOR, dvsn, Majid Jordan and Roy Wood$ (who are all planning album releases throughout the Fall) — Drake brought out a myriad of guests during his set: The WeekndPlayboi Carti, Rae Sremmurd, French Montana, Travis Scott, Migos and Cardi B.

However, one of the biggest surprises was when Tory Lanez joined Drake on stage, marking the first time the two had been performed on stage together following their May reconciliation. “Tory is a great guy,” Drake said. “Me & this guy right here. We had problems with each other, we had never even met each other. I met the man, and he’s a great guy.” Tory would then perform his remix of Drake’s “Controlla.”

Drake also brought out The Weeknd, who he put on the spot with the idea of actually recording and releasing project together.
