Ty Farris & Waterr – “Seize Power Freestyle”

blame it on JES7 August 12, 2017

As he states in the official press release, the cities of Detroit and Chicago “are like cousins” when it comes to Hip-Hop culture. With just 300 miles and the I-94 separating the state lines, there’s are subtle influences from each side crossing the borders, most notably in music (ghetto tech and Chicago’s ghetto house) and dance (Detroit Jit and Chicago footwork).

Recently, 6 Mile’s Ty Farris and Chi-Town’s Waterr decided to further the connection, announcing that the two have begun work on a joint EP.

To prepare folks for the project, the two Midwest emcees get things started with a freestyle over Havoc and Alchemist‘s “Seize Power” (off 2016’s The Silent Partner).

Keep it locked for more details on the EP, which will include production from Trox and iLL Brown and hit play on the “Seize Power Freestyle” below.
