blame it on JES7 August 13, 2017

San Jose’s Prozack Turner is known in certain circles as a member of Northern Cali group Foreign Legion (along with Marc Stretch and DJ Design).

Recently, the producer-emcee-entrepreneur ventured off into solitary waters, preparing to release his upcoming album, Not Everybody Sleeps At Night. The project will feature Guilty Simpson, Casual (of the Hieroglyphics), Boom Bap Project and more.

Following his video for “Obsession,” Prozack enlists our June Verse of the Month recipient Brother Ali for “High Enough.”

Over production concocted by himself, the Bay Area native narrates life on the streets of the his hometown, a “hotbed of drugs, murder and politics,” which came “before the hipster apocalypse,” while Brother Ali points out the rampant racism and classism which still permeates America, shouting out New Orleans for giving the world jazz and Harlem for being the cornerstone for cultural renaissance.

Hit play below and look out for Not Everybody Sleeps At Night, out this Friday, August 18th.
