Shabazz Palaces‘s “Shine A Light” is the soundtrack for a space-traveling symphony of rappers. It was the first single from the duo’s Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star — one of two albums dropped on the same day in July.
The video, released today, brings the back to more contemporary times. The setting is in black-and-white out on a farm at a teenage wedding. A sacrificial goat (played by Ishmael Butler) is brought down the aisle to the uneasy bride and groom. Then everyone starts making out as they encourage the soon-to-be-wed couple to throw a giant rock at the goat and kill it. The video’s a bit off, but that’s right in Shabazz Palaces’ wheel house.
