Mozzy‘s impressive run continues.
After 12 projects in 2016 and two collaborative efforts to start this year, SacTown rapper Mozzy keeps things rolling with the release of his new solo album, 1 Up Top Ahk
Although his early material was riddled with emptied clips and closed caskets, Mozzy has become more level-headed and reflective when it comes to his more recent albums, like last year’s Beautiful Struggle and Mandatory Check, and Fake Famous from earlier this year.
“Once upon a time, I didn’t talk about nothing but murder, selling drugs, and crazy shit,” he explains. “If you listen to my music now, it’s about the consequences of this shit.”
With tales of retribution and the pain of the past illuminating the profundity of newfound success, 1 Up Top Ahk arrives at 16 tracks with features from Jay Rock (“Momma We Made It“), Boosie Badazz, Dave East, YFN Lucci (“Stay Over There“), The Jacka, and more.
