Houston rapper Danny Watts is putting out an album called Black Boy Meets World on September 22 through Jonwayne‘s Authors Recording Company label. Luckily for Watts, his label’s founder is also killer on the boards, and he produced the entirety of his upcoming project.
Just before the weekend started, Watts shared the first single from Black Boy Meets World, “Young & Reckless,” too.
As the name of the album implies, “Young & Reckless” explores Watts’ experiences growing up. His life growing up, though, wasn’t being in a relationship with the same girl throughout his teenage years, and it also didn’t consist of a lifelong teacher conveniently living next door to him. It was a little more grizzly. “Young and reckless, we don’t follow directions/we just ignore the message, then fall back on aggression,” Watts raps on the hook.
