Hip Hop was everywhere throughout the weekend. In the States, Kendrick Lamar was running roughshod at the 2017 MTV VMAs. Meanwhile, in England DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince officially reunited. Meanwhile over in United Kingdom Eminem was holding his own court.
The headlining artist for its Reading & Leeds Fest, Marshall abruptly stopped his set to speak to the crowd. “I don’t want to cause any controversy so I won’t say no names,” he begins, “but this motherf***er, Donald Trump, I can’t stand. So before we get into this next song, we would like to request something of you. When I say ‘F***,’ you say ‘Trump’!”
He then segued into his The Eminem Show single, “White America.”
A few days prior, he levied the same sentiments during a performance in Scotland.

Obviously this isn’t Em’s first time speaking out against him: in 2016 he dropped an eight-minute acapella single, “Campaign Speech,” loaded with vitriol towards the then-nominee.
