Fresh off the release of her SANS project, Merna is back with a video for “Broken Telephone,” the first of three parts in an accompanying short-film.
“Broken Telephone is about the gossip or myths that have been storied down to us through generations about who we should be and what we should have,” says Merna. “Unfortunately this often sets us up to fail as we cannot all adhere to societies ideas, and shouldn’t want to anyways. I wanted this antique phones to be the characters to tell the story. Minimalistic like the album, but complex in concept and feel. The phones interact with each other as humans do, though broken and on display.”
