SZA Hints At Dropping Bonus ‘CTRL’ Songs

SZA‘s CTRL album is the perfect length — under an hour, plenty dense and diverse. But in this day and age, can we really ever have too much music?

Just as many albums often come with a deluxe version alongside the release, SZA’s project came with the one version with 14 songs. It seems, though, a deluxe version is in the works.

Tuesday night, a Twitter user tweeted a short video of SZA — who just dropped by Maroon 5’s new song, “What Lovers Do” — practicing choreography to a song unfamiliar to our ears (allegedly called “Wavy”). There’ve been a couple instances like this, where we see videos of SZA dancing and we haven’t yet heard the song in the background. But many of those songs came to fruition on CTRL. This one didn’t, and the fan expressed an anxiousness to hear the full thing.

And it seems like SZA has an answer.

The song — and many others, probably — didn’t make the album cut because of whatever reasons SZA had. But she hinted at letting some of those songs see the light of day on an upcoming bonus version of her album. There’s a video for the song, too. We here at the DopeHouse are all for that.

But back to CTRL: SZA recently revealed that Solange will direct the next video from the project for “The Weekend.” While we wait for all of this to unfold, go buy the original CTRL here.
