Moses Sumney – “Indulge Me”

blame it on Patrick Glynn September 5, 2017

There aren’t many album I’m more excited for the rest of the year than Moses Sumney‘s debut, Afromanticism. Singles like “Quarrel” and “Doomed” show Sumney’s craft honed to a T, reaching into the depths of your soul with not much more than his voice. His latest song, “Indulge Me,” exemplifies that.

He opens the song, “All my old lovers have found others, I was the lost in the rapture,” harmonizing with himself over an acoustic guitar.

Sumney debuted the song on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, where he discussed recording the album and specifics of “Indulge Me.” “Just really trying to make people cry and drag people into their feelings,” Sumney said, only semi-joking, I’m sure.

Afromanticism drops September 22 via Jagjaguwar. Cop it on Bandcamp.
