With over two decades in the game, it’s hard to believe Rock is just now releasing his debut solo album. But, I guess that’s what happens when you’ve been part of a duo with one of the dopest emcees to ever do it (Sean Price) and ran with one of the toughest crews in the game (BCC).

Still, even during his time away from Duck Down Records, Rock was plagued with bad luck and worse timing. All of which is detailed on the album’s title-track.

The past is the past, though. And the Brooklyn rapper is finally ready to deliver his full story with Rockness A.P.

Locked in at 14 tracks—including the threatening bully talk of “Wishin” with Kuniva, the grimy braggadocio of “FaxMachine” with fellow Brownsville natives M.O.P., and the cypher-esque hype of “Camp-Wu” with Inspectah Deck, Method Man, and Tek & Steele—the album is full of the no-bullsh*t lyricism we’ve come to expect from Rock.
