John Ruskin, better known as Nardwuar The Human Serviette, recently hit a milestone and celebrated his three decades of being a music journalist and interviewer. From Henry Rollins to Pharrell, Nardwuar has interviewed hundreds of artists, and while he suffered from a minor stroke in 2015 (and subsequently underwent heart surgery in 2016), he shows no signs of slowing down.
To commemorate his 30th anniversary, Nardwuar recently held a celebratory jamboree in his hometown of Vancouver, BC. As well as performing alongside his band, The Evaporators, he reconnected with Lil B (the two first met at SXSW in 2011) for a chat. Rather than do the “typically Nardwuar” interview, however, the Based God would eventually join The Evaporators on stage for a performance, resulting in both he and Nardwuar crowd-surfing.
Congrats to Nardwuar, and here’s to thirty more years of rocking in the free world.
