Oddisee describes his latest album, The Iceberg, as “a distillation of stereotypical tropes in hip-hop and beyond, 12 tracks about money, sex, politics, race and religion that appear superficial until his multi-dimensional lyrics unfurl to expose the complexities of individuality and identity: how we see ourselves and how others see us.”
That dichotomy is explored in the video for “You Grew Up.” Directed by Eugene & Louise, the animated visual shows how a person’s varying life circumstances can irreparably change them for the worst… or the better. Three children, three different lives, three different paths.
