Following one for the title-track, the Houston emcee and Portland, Maine producer keep it coming with “Nobody’s Perfect.” One of my personal favorites from the album, the song is about taking things day by day and working to improve your surroundings. Life can be a bitch with no regard for the pain she causes, but it’s in our best interest to fight through it. The second verse finds Anti breaking down an insane situation where one of his exes and a former friend ended up having a baby together. But instead of drowning in his own thoughts, he stands tall, wishes them the best, and continues pushing forward.
Throughout the album, Anti-Lilly paints vivid pictures of the struggles he’s faced in the years since he released Stories From the Brass Section in 2014. And with the “Nobody’s Perfect” video, directed by Catch and Shoot, he physically puts the brush to canvas.
